Rus’-Oil closes the KMAD 20-million tons site acquisition deal

Rus’-Oil is signing six trust management agreements for recently auctioned licensed sites in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District (KMAD), Surgut and Nefteyugansk areas, Eduard Sapunkov, the company’s official representative, told RNS.

“The acquisition deals for these licensed sites are now closed. Currently Rus’-Oil is signing trust management agreements for the sites”, press secretary said. The drilling activities are expected to start in 2017, according to Mr. Sapunkov.

As a result of the deal, Rus’-Oil will gain control over six companies with the total production reserves of 20 million tons of oil. The sites in question include Binshtokovsky, Western-Multanovsky, Yugansky-16, Yugansky-18, Yugansky-19 and Yugansky-21 licensed blocks. All the sites are located close to Gustorechenskoye (Razvitie Sankt-Peterburga LLC) and Multanovskoye (Hortitsa LLC) oil fields, which Rus’-Oil has been managing since 2013.

The auction for the license to use the subsoil for geological exploration, reconnaissance and production of hydrocarbon products has taken place on July 15 this year. Rus’-Oil competed with the likes of Surgutneftegaz and Rosneft.

Experts believe this acquisition will give the company a good synergy effect, as they are all border one another and are located in the immediate vicinity of Gustorechenskoye and Multanovskoye oil fields, also managed by the company. A complete united oil transportation system is another advantage.

Rus’-Oil was founded in 2013. Its extractable reserves as of 2016 amount to 147 million tons, according to DeGolyer and MacNaughton estimates.
